oiw
concept, research, storytelling, mulage
this is the most conceptual experimental project in the portfolio. The research began from a historical moment in which we all experienced a sense of loss—the COVID pandemic. Starting from the drama and the lack of sacredness of that period, I analyzed how different cultures approach the theme of funerals. The one that offers the most positive and open perspective is the Celtic tradition, aesthetically reflected in the sculptures of artist Philip Jackson

In this philosophy, the soul travels through multiple lives until it reunites with the spiritual center of the universe: OIW. Similarly, the collection evolves, and the pleating, which binds all the pieces, undergoes various experiments—first irregular, grunge, and decadent, then pinned, refined, and supported.
the moulage technique helps in this case to explore the majesty and precision of the final phase: a spiral of raw fabric that seeks grandeur and perfection
